Justin Trudeau has already been a comic book star. Now Will & Grace star Eric McCormack wants the PM to transition to TV – as his love interest.
In an interview with Digital Spy, the cast revealed their wish list of celebrities they’d like to see cameo on the series reboot.
The show – which debuted in 1998 and ran for eight seasons before it was rebooted for a ninth last fall – has had its share of celebrity cameos including Kevin Bacon and Madonna.
McCormack wants to add Trudeau to that list.
“Because I’m Canadian… I think it would be a great plot to have Will have a secret Canadian boyfriend he can’t say.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Why, you don’t have a boyfriend? That’s why. You’re just lying’. And it’s revealed that it’s Justin.
“I’m going to keep saying that so that one day Justin reads that and goes, ‘I like that idea!’ And I think he would. I think it might [happen].”
If Trudeau appears, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s starred in a TV show. The prime minister appeared as Talbot Papineau in 2007 CBC movie The Great War.
McCormack’s castmates Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally also shared their dream celebrity guests including Martin Short, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep.
